place.
Gumbo was buried last week at Luveve Cemetery at an emotionally charged funeral, with relatives complaining that the police had refused to offer any assistance to meet the burial costs.
Noel Dube, a close relative of the late Gumbo, was also badly assaulted by police who had stormed the illegal drinking place, after he had asked the police why they were drawing a pistol in front of revellers.
Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Mandlenkosi Moyo defended the shooting, accusing Gumbo of resisting lawful arrest.
Moyo said the police officer was “trying to defend himself as he was being overpowered”.
The police spokesperson said the police were still carrying out investigations into the matter. – ZimOnline
