Lancashire chase title

LANCASHIRE have emerged with a late bid to win their first County Championship title since 1950 after beating Warwickshire by nine wickets at Old Trafford to go six points clear at the top.
Second-placed Sussex, chasing their third title in five years, crashed to a nine-wick

et defeat away to Durham and lost Pakistan paceman Naved-ul-Hasan with a badly dislocated shoulder.
Lancashire led by six points going into their final match against Surrey at The Oval. Sussex meet bottom-of-the-table Worcestershire at Hove and Durham, a further two-and-a-half points back in third place, play Kent at Canterbury.
Zimbabwe legend Graeme Hick, 41, scored a rapid 34 as Worcestershire, relegated in the Championship, won the Pro40 League with a six-wicket victory over Gloucestershire under the lights at Bristol.
