PRETORIA - Esrom Nyandoro's penchant for prize-winning goals might see him competing against himself for the PSL Goal of the Season at the end of the 2007/08 campaign.
The hardworking Warriors midfielder made a welcome return to Mamelodi Sundowns with a trademark long-range goal but his team-mates could not complement him, and the league champions crashed to a 1-2 loss to Golden Arrows at

With Arrows leading 1-0 in the 53rd minute, ‘Quarter’ let loose a half volley from 25 metres away, leaving goalkeeper Nkosana Maseko clutching thin air as the thunderbolt whizzed past him on its way to the net.
The celebrations that followed the Zimbabwe international’s goal were however short-lived as Vusumuzi Vilakazi stole the winner for Abafana Bes’thende a few minutes later.
Across Gauteng, Zimbabwean coach Ian Gorowa was a relieved man as his Moroka Swallows charges bounced back to winning ways with the slenderest of margins at Germiston.
A stoppage-time goal from Zambian import James Chamanga was all The Birds needed to subdue a determined Black Leopards in this thrilling encounter.
Chamanga’s header was enough to hand Swallows, celebrating their 60th anniversary, their second victory in the league after a string of draws had threatened to derail their campaign.
Ralph Matema’s return in the colours of Orlando Pirates in the last 15 minutes was marred by an unnecessary yellow card as The Buccaneers made light work of log leaders Bloemfontein Celtic. Youthful striker Excellent Walaza’s brace and Bennet Chenene inspired the former champions to a welcome victory.
Sworn rivals Kaizer Chiefs’ title ambitions suffered another setback when the draw specialists could only manage a goalless draw against a stubborn Platinum Stars in Rustenburg. The same result transpired in Cape Town, where Ajax Cape Town clashed with Supersport United.
Bidvest Wits and Santos played to a scruffy 1-1 draw that produced two red cards at Milpark while Amazulu dismissed Thanda Royal Zulu by a solitary goal in the Kwazulu-Natal derby.
