Scintillating CAPS score a draw
BULAWAYO - Visiting CAPS United produced some scintillating performances when they held premiership defending champions Highlanders to a 1-1 draw in this pulsating CBZ FA Cup quarter-final played at Barbourfields Stadium in Bulawayo on Sunday.

In a match watched by an estimated 35,000 crowd, CAPS United took an early lead through Gift Makoloni before Johannes Ngodzo levelled terms for Highlanders in what appeared to be a controversial penalty awarded to Bosso by referee Felix Kawara.
Ngodzo’s equaliser brought a great sigh of relief to the embattled coach Methembe Ndlovu, whose charges are facing fierce competition in both the CBZ premiership and the FA Cup where arch-rivals Dynamos are threatening to walk away with the two trophies.
The draw means that Highlanders will now meet CAPS United in another replay match to be played in the capital at a date to be announced by the Zimbabwe Football Association.
Brilliant skill from former Dynamos forward Givemore Manuella was all the home team – Highlanders – needed to find an equalising goal to save them from embarrassment before their home crowd.
Manuella took a dive that deceived the match official for a genuine foul before pointing to the spot kick. Up stepped Ngodzo to send the bulky Energy Murambadoro, in goals for CAPS United, the wrong side of the posts.

Dynamos FC – 0 – Lengthens
HARARE – Soccer power-house, Dynamos Football Club were held to a goalless draw by minnows Lengthens in a well-balanced FA CBZ Cup quarter-final played at Gwanzura Stadium on Sunday.
DeMbare have in two consecutive premiership encounters completely failed to find the net, casting doubts as to whether Dynamos can stand the heat as the league season approaches end.
The previous week, Dynamos strikers fired blanks against Eastern Lions in the reverse CBZ premiership encounter played at the same venue.
Despite some assurances by captain Justice Majabvi that DeMbare would destroy the unheralded Lengthens, all the weekend promises came to nothing when the Dynamos strikers failed to score when it mattered most.
Sunday’s draw means that the two Harare premiership sides will meet again in the replay match where the victorious will progress to the semi-final stage.
Had it not been for poor shooting at goal, Lengthens could have humbled DeMbare 3-1 before an estimated 30 000 crowd. – CAJ News
