Gomez Mendes, a trade unionist based in Huambo told CAJ News Agency on Monday that the Angola labour body would do all possible within their means to have the ship returned where it came from with the “weapons of mass destruction”.
The international labour body also issued a statement in the capital, Angola that it is lobbying with other African member states not to allow the Chinese ship, An Yue Jiang to dock at their ports for the ship was carrying weapons to suppress the country’s citizens of their democratic right to food, human rights, health, freedom of association, among other issues, the withholding of the presidential election.
In Pretoria (Tshwane), the Zimbabwe Exiles Forum (ZEF), insisted that more pressure should be exerted on the ship not to offload its dangerous weapons to suppress people of Zimbabwe.
“Various transport heads from various African nations are here and they should see to it that none of our countries would ever allow this Chinese ship to land in our waters for the purposes of suppressing Zimbabwean citizens, who are already battling for their survival under the dictatorship of Mugabe.
“We have since resolved to mobilize with other African regional groupings in West, East and North Africa not to allow the weapons destined for Zimbabwe to pass through their respective countries,” Gomez Mendes of Angola workers union told CAJ News on Monday.
The Chinese ship is carrying lethal weapons, among them three million rounds of AK-47 ammunition (3 000 000), more than 3 000 mortar rounds, 1,500 rocket-propelled grenades and mortar tubes aimed at suppressing the people of Zimbabwe.
