Bulls not so Mighty as Lengthens march on

NEW Lengthens head coach Collin Mahara got off to a winning start barely a week after taking over from Moses Chunga as his team outwitted Motor Action 1 - 0 in a CBZ Premier Soccer League match, played at Gwanzura stadium on May 19.

Brian Mapfumo was the man who brought honor to the league lightweights in the 47th minute when he sent the ball into the back of the net from a crowded danger zone.Despite being reduced to a 10-man side, following Khanye’s second booking by referee Cosmas Chafa in the 54th minute, Mahara’s charges soldiered on. Lengthens could have had goals galore had they converted a number of chances they wasted.

The Mighty Bulls had a promising start, looking all determined to pull off a win with a promising attack from young Louis Matawu ending in vain.An energetic Matawu came face to face with the Lengthens goalkeeper, Gonese, in the 42nd minute, but the man between the posts grabbed the ball quickly before the attacker could decide on which trick to deceive him with.
