Nigerians join Zanu (PF)

BULAWAYO - Nigerian immigrants living in Zimbabwe have joined Zanu (PF) youth militias in campaigning for head of the military junta, Robert Mugabe, in preparation for the June 27 presidential run off.

Bulawayo is host to a number of Nigerian immigrants running businesses such as supermarkets, cell phone repair shops and boutiques.

On June 19 The  Zimbabwean on Sunday  reporters  witnessed five  well-known  Nigerian  men gathered  at the Zanu (PF) offices on  Jason Moyo Street and Sixth  Avenue Zanu (PF) regalia, singing Norah, a popular song among Zanu (PF) supporters.  They had even parked their cars displaying Mugabe posters in front of the Zanu (PF) offices.

The The  Zimbabwean on Sunday understand that the addressed  a Zanu (PF)  rally  in Magwegwe later that day.

One Nigerian man who operates a cell phone shop disassociated himself from his fellow countrymen and accused them of trying to secure residents permits. No comment could be obtained from the Nigerian Embassy.
