Monomotapa clings to CBZ premiership pole position

HARARE, (CAJ News)--PREMIERSHIP log leaders, Monomotapa Football Club beat visiting Njube Sundowns 2-1 in a CBZ Premier Soccer League match played at Dzivarasekwa Stadium in Harare on Saturday.

Two goals from Makai Kawasha and an own goal by Sundowns defender Brian Mbiriri were enough to see the log pacesetters maintain their pole position on top of the 16-team premier soccer league log standings.

However, Sundowns pulled one back courtesy the boot of Zimbabwe marksman, Evans Chikwaikwai, but the damage had already been inflicted.

Monomotapa, coached by former Warriors captain, Norman “Muchiniwemajuzi” Mapeza have taken the nation by surprise when they beat big guns in their quest for a premiership league title ahead of defending champions Dynamos.

It is still unclear as to whether DeMbare would be able to defend their premiership title or not following some mixed performances in this on-going CBZ championship following some other serious commitment at the African Safari Club championship–CAJ News.
