The Lions of the North featured Ndlovu in their lineup in the weekend friendly match against Soweto giants Orlando pirates.
Pirates were held to a one-all draw by Stars with Simba Marumo canceling out trialist Adriano’s opening goal.
The game was played at a frantic pace with Benson Mhlongo and company doing a sterling job to keep the striking duo of Marumo and former Coventry City star Ndlovu at bay at Ellis Park.
Ndlovu and Sundowns parted ways recently when Patrice Motsepe’s Downs did not renew his lucrative contract.
Although it was a friendly encounter, one could forgive Stars for coming to Johannesburg looking to avenge the defeat they suffered at the hands of the Buccaneers in the semi-final of the Telkom Charity Cup earlier this month.
The game kicked off with the visitors dominating in the ball possession department as they opted for the slow build up from the back, looking to counter attack. However, it would be Pirates that would draw first blood with Adriano – who is currently on trial at the club, scored with a well executed shot past the keeper in the 20th minute.
The goal shook the visitors into action as they went forward with more purpose in search of the equaliser.
They came close on a number of occasions but were finally rewarded for their efforts albeit fortuitously when Marumo capitalised on a defensive error between Michael Morton and Senzo Meyiwa to slot the ball into an empty net.
