Chikwaikwai leads the pack, three goals ahead of the 2007 top goal scorer of the year, Cuthbert Malajila, who is trailing with 13 shots.
Malajila contributed exactly half of Highlanders’ total of 26 goals. The Bosso forward who spoke to The Zimbabwean in an off the field interview, last month, said he is eager to reclaim the title this year although he will not put myself under pressure for it.
But the fellow Bulawayo based player, Chikwaikwai , have since powered his side to a second place on the CBZ premier soccer league log standings.
Chikwaikwai has wooed the hearts of Sundowns supporters with his ability to find the nets with the ball, from different angles.
Glamour Boys’ Edward Sadomba, also stands a chance of claiming the top goal scorer of the year tag, this year, after 12 goals of Dynamos’ total of 21, with a chance of topping them up in his side’s four games in hand. Trailing behind Sadomba, is Tawanda Nyamandwe who has amassed eight goals in contribution to Kiglon’s 22, so far this season.
Log leaders, Monomotapa, have their representative in Daniel Zokoto who shares the same number of scores with Nyasha Mushekwi (Caps United) and Douglas Zimbago (Highlanders). The three have directed the ball into the back of the nets seven times, one goal ahead of Tendai Nyamadzawo (Lengthens) and Lancashire Steel’s Simon Chipunza.
