It is only through the leadership qualities that he has shown as the president of the MDC that he is the best candidate who can move this country to greater heights.
People from all sectors of life have pinned their hopes on the MDC President to resolve the 10-year long economic crisis that was created by Zanu (PF) politicians.
It is imperative that as soon as Tsvangirai takes over office, he puts in place strategies that will swiftly remove the economic hardships that the people are facing.
Having read several MDC policies on health, land, education, economy and housing, it is my belief that Tsvangirai and his proposed ministers are leaders prepared to deliver a new Zimbabwe to the people of this country.
It is our hope and belief that Tsvangirai will be able to tackle as a matter of urgency issues such as corruption in both the public and private sector, availability of cash in the banks and education and health.
Zanu (PF) had created a number of commissions such as the Anti-Corruption Commission, Media and Information Commission and the National Income and
Pricing Commission with the sole purpose of bringing sanity to our economy.
However, these commissions turned to be nothing but white elephants’ where friends and relatives of senior Zanu (PF) politicians were given posts just to enjoy the Zanu (PF) gravy train.
It is Tsvangirai’s mandate to see to it that only people who have the merit are given the opportunity to turn around the economy. This is no longer the time to give colleagues jobs that they cannot perform, simply because you were fighting for democracy together.
Zanu (PF) looked after its comrades from the liberation struggle well and, although there was nothing bad about this kind of gesture, the comrades, however, turned out to be looters of state property and machinery.
Even Robert Mugabe admitted to this when he recently said that the last cabinet was the worst that he had had since 1980.
We wish Tsvangirai well in his new office and hope that our miseries will soon be a thing of the past.
