Zim out of 2010, Kenya in

JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News): AFRICAN football legend Musa Otieno hailed his country after qualifying for the next phase at the extent of Zimbabwe.

This follows the United States-based defender’s country’s 1-0 victory over Namibia in the combined qualifiers for the 2010 AFCON/World Cup.

Veteran Otieno, the former captain of the underrated nation was ecstatic at the result that sent Kenya through.

“It is a good day for Kenyan football,” he said.

“We have qualified from a competitive group that included Zimbabwe, which shows the character of the boys. This team can go far,” he said of the Harambee Stars.

Otieno, back in South Africa after a loan spell in the US alluded to the crisis that tore Kenya early this year-ironically the same mishap that is facing Zimbabwe.

“For the guys to put up such a performance despite the problems our country faced is really uplifting.”–CAJ News.
