MDC’s courtesy call to Ambassador Moyo, as a good will gesture over the talks

The leadership of the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) in South Africa paid a courtesy visit to Ambassador, Simon Khaya Moyo, as a gesture of good will to the on going power sharing talks.

MDC’s South Africa Provincial Chairman, Austin Moyo and the Publicity and information Secretary, Sibanengi Dube, held a brief meeting with Ambassador Moyo, and his senior officers, Mike Chigiji and V.J. Huruwe.

The visit is a clear sign of the genuine good faith we have in the power sharing talks.

We believe that we belong to each other and we cherish the immediate need to extend our hands to Zanu PF brothers operating in South Africa.

We discussed various issues affecting Zimbabweans in Diaspora including the need for the inclusive government to comprehensively deal with repatriating Zimbabweans back home.

Ambassador Moyo pointed out that structures to orderly repatriate our nationals would only be put in place after a new government is sworn in. The Ambassador urged all the leaders present at the meeting to pray for the power sharing deal to be a success.

We share the same sentiment with Ambassador Moyo but his prayer and ours can only come to fruition if his party Zanu PF stops demanding all key ministries. Millions of Zimbabweans are praying wherever they are for the power sharing deal to be a success but Zanu PF keeps on taking us backwards, by insisting on grabbing the ministries of Finance, Home Affairs, Defence, Foreign Affairs and Local Government.

The majority party in Zimbabwe parliament is not prepared to be passengers in this deal.

We have faith and hope that Zimbabweans would be able to extricate themselves from this quagmire we are finding ourselves into 28 years into independence.
