Mushangazhike finds target at Orlando Pirates

JOHANNESBURG - Zimbabwean international, Gilbert Mushangazhike has broken his goal scoring ruck for Orlando Pirates.

The bustling striker scored his first goal of the season for the club as they beat Moroka swallows 3-2 in the lucrative Telkom Knockout at Olympia Park on November 8.

The Buccaneers started with a bang scoring the opening goal in the third minute.

Teko Modise provided a pin-point cross from the right that found Thulasizwe Mbuyane’s head unmarked inside the box.

Pirates doubled their lead in the 31st minute. A quick ball from the back and a beautiful through-ball from Mbuyane put Mabalane one-on-one with the Birds keeper Greg Etafia and Dikang Mabalane tucked it round with ease.

The Buccaneers sealed the victory in the 61st when a superb through-ball from Modise found Mabalane breaking down the right flank. Mabalane unselfishly laid the ball off across the goal to Mushangazhike who tapped it into an empty net.

Swallows made a late rally but the two goals were not enough to salvage anything from the match.
