Falcon College is the highly respected primary school founded and run by Zimbabwean business-woman, Sihle Nkala, and has so far employed highly qualified teachers from Zimbabwe, who escaped dilapidating standards of living and education.
Under the ambitious income-generating project launched early this month, parents who cannot afford to pay school fees for their children will receive training in sewing, cookery and woodwork, for commercial purposes, with the bulk of the proceeds expected to go towards their children’s school fees and the purchase of other basics.
“After realizing that some of our pupils have school fees arrears dating back eight months, we carried out a survey in which we profiled our their background, especially on the challenges facing their parents. We then discovered this financial deficiency and decided to help these less privileged children, most of who are very intelligent,” Nkala said.

She bemoaned the government’s failure to provide grants to pupils with a genuine need and expressed her hope that the newly-introduced programme would address the current situation. – CAJ News
