Warriors thump Angola 3-2

LUANDA - Supercharged Zimbabwe under-17 Warriors beat hosts Angola in their own backyard to book a place at the 2009 Africa Youth Championship final in a thrilling encounter strongly contested at Estadio Citadel in Luanda on November 9.

A brace by young unheralded Carlton Mashumba and another goal by Archford Gutu capped a fine performance by the Rodrcik Dhlakama coached young Warriors.

Zimbabwe under-17 will be hosting Angola in Harare in a fortnight to seal the deal to travel to the Algerian capital, Algiers for the important African Youth Championship.

The young Warriors beat the likes of Botswana and other top western nations to register victories that would see them qualify for the first time in this highly competitive African youth championship.
