Dilemma

We have been reflecting on it all week. Basildon Peta set the tone by his forceful commentary after waiting up till 3.00 am to attend every press conference given by the participants: they just didn't have the courage (he used more earthy language) to stand up to him (Mugabe).

A colleague expressed it this way: under pressure,
the dominant value that people act out of is not justice and concern
for the common good. Rather it is the desire to maintain harmony
amongst peers, whatever the cost. In other words, what really matters
is not the people out there but the people in here.
