Grass is not greener for disabled refugees

Disabled Zimbabwean immigrants fled their country's decade-long poverty hoping for a better life in South Africa. But there are new challenges here in Johannesburg.

Not only do they struggle to put food on the table, disabled refugees
fail to get safe accommodation or health facilities. Whilst some sleep
in the open on street pavements, others illegally occupy abandoned
apartments, sharing the squalid buildings with potentially dangerous
strangers. They risk eviction and live in constant fear of police and
criminals.
