Mr Banda said it was unfortunate that some leaders thought they were indispensable and went about defying party rules.
Mr Banda, who was speaking when he addressed MMD supporters at Siavonga High School shortly after he landed yesterday, said he would not hesitate to dismiss any party or Government official who would be found guilty of indiscipline.
The president, who was in Siavonga to officially launch the extension project of the Kariba North Bank, was accompanied by Presidential Affairs Minister, Gabriel Namulambe and Energy and Water Development Minister, Kenneth Konga.
I just want to warn my fellow leaders, all the 11 million Zambians are capable of being leaders. We must be humble to our people, we must provide them with a fair service, he said.
Mr Banda recently fired former Science, Technology and Vocational Training deputy minister, Jonas Shakafuswa and former Energy and Water Development deputy minister, Lameck Chibombamilimo, who were both subsequently expelled from MMD.
Mr Banda said he wanted to instill discipline in the party and the Government.
He said from the time he was elected as Republican president, some media institutions, individuals and some members of the ruling party had continuously attacked him.
He said some people had taken advantage of his friendliness and were at liberty to do wrong things with impunity.
They mistook my teeth, that when I smile that I can't bite. I took time to show that I can bite deeply. I am not after people but those who are indisciplined.
I hope that others in the party and in the Government will learn from this. People have been saying this is too harsh, I have been the subject of attack, those are just warning shots as I will bite more, he said.
Mr Banda said Mr Shakafuswa and Mr Chibombamilimo would soon discover that there were better and more qualified people in their constituencies who would replace them. Mr Shakafuswa is Katuba member of Parliament while Mr Chibombamilimo is Mpulungu member of Parliament.
Even if I take out 10, I can find 10 better ones. When we are leaders we think we are the better ones. Let them go and stand as independent or PF (patriotic Front) we will meet them, he said.
And Mr Banda said he wanted to create more employment opportunities and see to it that more development schemes were opened up during the three years of his presidency.
He said he wanted to put up more schools, health and social facilities so that the younger generation was more educated.
Speaking earlier, Southern Province Minister, Daniel Munkombwe said the Government had taken development to all corners of the province. Mr Munkombwe said the Government was currently grading roads in the province using the six graders that were procured from the Chinese government.
He added that the Government was not bothered by empty critics and would continue to take development programmes to the people.
And Southern Province MMD chairman, Solomon Muzyamba said the people in the province were happy to welcome Mr Banda for the first time after he was elected as President.
Mr Muzyamba said people were confident of Mr Banda's leadership, as he was one of the longest serving politicians in Zambia.
He said the people of Southern Province had now resolved to support the MMD as it had proved that it was a committed party with several developmental projects.
