The case was adjourned to afternoon where the Magistrate gave him bail. He will appear at the same court on July 1 to enter plea.

The Ministry of Information and Civic Education produced a biography for President Bingu wa Mutharika which was distributed for free during the swearing in ceremony at the Kamuzu Stadium.

But Tembo, who compiled the Mutharikas brochure, is reported to have also produced Tembos biography upon directive from his superiors on the basis that anything could have happened during the May 19 polls after the veteran MCP politician gave Mutharika tough time during the elections.

The 52-year-old government journalist joined Ministry of Information in 1992 and has been an editor for the countrys highest circulating and oldest free newspaper which is published in the vernacular Chichewa since early 2000.

Gilbert Tembo comes from Chinkhota village Tradional Authority Simphasi in Mchinji district.
