Incompetent Mudenge must go

mudengeEDITOR This old man's term of office is long overdue considering the levels of incompetence the ministry of higher and tertiary education has shown. He in particular has failed to take not of the plight of students, despite acknowledging the fact that they are the key stakeholders in his ministry.

Calls by students to engage the minister have proven impossible. Such unbecoming tendencies result in monstrous atrocities being inflicted on innocent students. The very same Zanu (PF) mis-governance is still visible in the education systems being championed by Mudenge – undermining the core values of the GNU.
The vibrant education delivery system of the 80s and 90s has been destroyed – with the permanent secretary, vice chancellors and principals acting as tools of oppression. They suspend, defer and exclude innocent students willy nilly.
It is high time the ministry committed itself to fight against the privatisation of education in Zimbabwe, especially under this new political dispensation.
There is every reason to rewind the clock to the pre-millennium era where grants and loans were ensured. The fees structures must be reduced by at least 400% to become affordable for many. the policy must ensure there is a bondage that creates matrimony amongst all stakeholders. – TAFADZWA KUTYA, Great Zimbabwe university president
