Softball Association of Zimbabwe President, Stonard Mapfumo, said he received the news that their visas had been denied by the Czech embassy in South Africa early Friday when all hope was that the team was ready to travel.
We were all looking forward to going for the games – imagine all the time and resources we spent in camp for four months? said Mapfumo.
Twelve countries were expected to participate at the Easton Foundation Softball Youth World Cup with Zimbabwe and South Africa being the two African representatives.

The Zimbabwe National U-16 softball team has failed to travel for the youth world championships set for the Czech Republic after it was denied travel visas. The team that was supposed to fly out of the country on Saturday had to break camp after five months of preparations much to the disappointment of the junior girls.
