Not impressed by GNU

EDITOR - I am not over impressed with the progress of this so-called 'unity' government. We western entrepreneurs who are prepared to invest in Zimbabwe are raising our eyebrows at the total lack of positive action to get the country up and going.

I Iam personally aware of millions of US dollars ready to go into Zim, which is just not going to happen if Mugabe is anywhere near that money. So I don’t know why the powers are so naive on the issue. Zimbabwe needs us, we don’t need them unless the deal is right, and part of that deal is personal security and security of our finances.

I am getting exceedingly exasperated. Zimbabwe is one of the wealthiest countries in southern Africa, and yet nobody is creating an environment that is viable for business.

The situation is pathetic and I am starting to think that the Zimbabweans deserve what they’ve got as they are not demonstrating courage, panache, style or flair. Even the Ndebele’s with their Zulu blood are as spiritually defeated as everybody else.

I’ve spent many, many an hour fretting over how I can help Zimbabweans, and the answer is that I cannot, unless they are prepared to help themselves first. Lots of talk, lots of meetings but everybody is still starving. That is totally against my whole mentality and existence.

What I can’t understand is that if anybody murdered my brother, raped my sister, drove my father to insanity, ran off with my crops and cattle and took everything away from me including my dignity and masculinity, then that man would have to run for the hills because I would be after him with a conviction that no human being could possibly stand up to.
