Chunga threatens to quit

chungaHARARE - Gunners coach Moses Chunga (Pictured) has threatened to quit the team after he was abused by the team's fans in the aftermath of the 3-1 defeat to Shooting Stars in a mid week league game at Gwanzura last week.

The defeat saw Gunners being dislodged from the top of the log by rivals Dynamos in the title race. They now trail in second place as the league season goes to the wire.

Chunga told The Zimbabwean that he was still digesting the events at Gwazura before taking a decision.

The former Dynamos midfield magician is still seething with anger following his abuse by the team’s fans and says he does not deserve that kind of treatment.

“If you look at how I have transformed Gunners from a very ordinary to a team capable of challenging for honours, you can see that I do not deserve that kind of treatment. How would I coach the team when I am humiliated in front of the players like this,” says Chunga.

“This is not the first time they have treated me like this. I can’t keep on being abused by fans who just get into the match for free, get free beer and free food. It’s unfair to be treated like that. I will digest what happened at Gwanzura before I know my next move. It should be remembered that in football you lose some games and win some.”
