Zapu to hold public meetings at Brunapeg and Nketa this weekend

zapu_flagZAPU will this weekend hold two public meetings to mobilize support and address people on the partys proposals for the new constitution.
The first meeting will be at Brunapeg Business Centre in Mangwe District of Matabeleland South on Saturday 17 October 2009, starting at 10 am. Zapu national and provincial leaders will address the meeting.

On Sunday, 18 October 2009, Zapu will hold a meeting at Nketa Hall in Nketa suburb in Bulawayo. The meeting is expected to be attended by residents of Wards 24, 25 and 26 in Nketha/Mganwini constituency. National and provincial leaders will address the meeting, which starts at 10 am.

Both meetings have been cleared by the police.

Zapu takes this opportunity to express disappointment over the activities of our competitors, mainly MDC-T and Zanu-PF officials in some areas who are resorting to intimidation and disinformation to derail our campaign trail. Zapu is happy to announce that in spite of this, our programmes are moving according to plan.

Our next rally is penciled for Zodula Business Centre in Matobo North constituency. Zapu is disappointed that a senior MDC-T official who comes from Matobo North has in the past weeks been visiting the area literally threatening people against attending Zapu meetings. Our party is seriously considering reporting him to the police if he does not stop his barbaric behaviour, which is not fit for a person in his position.

Thank you.
