Cheetahs prepare for the hunt

rugby_liam_middletonHARARE - The national sevens rugby side this week stepped up preparations for the tour of the United Arab Emirates and South Africa early next month, under the guidance of England-based, Liam Middleton. (Pictured)

The Cheetahs mentor took charge of his side last March in the Hong Kong Sevens series and the World Cup. But since then, his assistant, Gilbert Nyamutsamba, has been in charge.

Nyamutsamba led the national sevens in competitive battles of the Castle Zambia competition, Safari Kenya, Trustco Namibia and Middelburg South Africa tournaments.

The Cheetahs beat the World Cup finalists, Argentina, to lose in the finals against South Africa.

But next month the much experienced Middleton will take charge of his troops as Nyamutsamba assists him in the technical department.
