The tournament dubbed “Play It Safe” will take place at three venues at Mzilikazi and Sobukazi high schools and Safe Zone Youth Centre in Mzilikazi.

Three schools, Mzilikazi, Sobukazi and Njube High will participate in the games involving three disciplines: soccer, netball and volleyball.

Event co-ordinator, Thembelihle Moyo, said they were targeting mainly youths in school and school-leavers.

“What we are saying is that the youths should always use the right documents when they intend to travel to other countries, said Moyo.

She also explained that they would focus on other issues such as HIV/Aids and teaching the youths about safe sex.

“We will also be encouraging the youths to make informed decisions on safer sex and abstinence,” Moyo said.

Other stakeholders involved in the tournament are the National Aids Council (NAC), Community Working Group on Health (CWGH), Zimbabwe National Family Planning Council (ZNFPC) and the HIV and Blood Safety Foundation.
