Revellers looked resplendent in all white, head to toe, and Sulumani Chimbetu and J Masters provided the entertainment.
Zimbabwe welcomed the World Cup with dance and celebration last Thursday, as cheering football fans greeted the trophys arrival on a chartered Coca-Cola flight.
Traditional chiefs in ceremonial garb received the 18-carat gold trophy, first used at the 1974 finals. The officials took turns to admire and pose for photographs with a trophy that, sadly, Zimbabwe cannot win next year after failing to qualify for the finals.
The cup which arrived from Madagascar never left the airport. A welcome function was held at the domestic flights terminal, which had been prepared for the ceremony.
