Now some 12 or so months down the line people seem to have forgotten what they went through, and who carried them through.
The parties to the GPA have reached a deadlock for now, and can no longer move on. As a people, we have forgotten what God told us in Chronicles 7 v14: If my people, who are called by my name should humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
Indeed prayer makes the seemingly impossible, possible. In the first place, whoever thought that such an agreement was going to be possible? But, by the grace of the Lord, the agreement became a reality.
Still there are forces of the dark that thrive on the spillage of innocent blood, and the suffering of mankind, working tirelessly to see the GPA fall apart, hence the present stagnation.
I sincerely urge the Christian community in this country to continue praying for our countrys leadership as it written in Timothy 2 v1-2: I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone for kings and all those in authority, that they may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.
And it must be known also by the leaders themselves that the offices they hold are a God-given mandate, and should they abuse them, they will also evoke Gods anger. Nahum 1 v2-3 states: The Lord is a jealous and avenging God; the Lord takes vengeance and is filled with wrath. The Lord is slow to anger and great in power; the Lord will not leave the guilty unpunished
So no matter how good things seem to be, lets not tire of praying.
