Salmon gets player of the month

Salmon, the Supersport United striker, shrugged the challenge of Bafana Bafana duo Katlego Mphela and Reneilwe Letsholonyane to win the award for November.

It was our third nominee Glen Salmon who walks off as the Absa Premiership Player of the Month. Salmon was described as a Box to Box striker, who allows his team mates to play off him. His ability to shield and hold onto the ball saw SuperSport score goals. Overall the judges felt Salmon had a great month and was a joy to watch playing, Altaaf Kazi, Premier Soccer League spokesperson, told ***The Zimbabwean.

Salmon has been key to Uniteds quest for a third successive Absa Premiership crown.

The player, who turns 32 on December 24, was born in Harare and grew up in South Africa.

He spent almost one decade playing in Europe for NAC Breda and F.C. Groningen in the Dutch Eredivisie and PAOK in Greece.

Salmon made his international debut against Algeria on February 2, 2000 and has been capped three times in total.
