The Medibank International Sydney is a professional tennis tournament in Sydney, Australia, played annually at the Sydney Olympic Park Tennis Centre in Homebush. It is one of the oldest tennis tournaments in the world, dating to 1885. Black and Huber, who are currently ranked as the world number one doubles pair, got off to a perfect start ahead of the seasons first grand slam, the Australia Open, when they beat Italian Tathiana Garbin and Russian Nadia Petrova 6-1, 3-6 10-3 last Saturday.

Earlier this month, the two won the KIA Motors ASB Classic, in New Zealand, where they outclassed Natalie Grandin of South Africa and the United States Laura Granville 7-6(4) 6-2.

Black who has only won the Australian Open once in 2007 will be hoping to step up their performance at the seasons opening grand slam event having bowled out of the tournament in the quarter finals last year.
