The MDC is doing a little to protect its members and activists here in Zimbabwe who are still abducted, arrested, and sent to trial. The police and security agents are still biased towards Zanu (PF) because of the favour they are shown from President Robert Mugabe. Political exiles are better staying where they are, there is no better place for them. They should stay in the Diaspora until there are fair elections, and the MDC have full control of the security arms of the government.
There is no guarantee that these political exiles will be protected if they go back to Zimbabwe. For example, Roy Bennett was guaranteed by SADC that Mugabe and Zanu (PF) would not abuse or arrest him. Bennett was arrested and is still fighting for his freedom. Under the GNU, no Zanu (PF) members have been arrested or taken to court, only MDC members suffer this fate. Even those Zanu (PF) men who are known killers still roam free, e.g., Chinotimba , Mwale , Kitsi Yatota, Chitopfu, just to mention a few.
This shows the powers of the GNU are being enjoyed by Zanu (PF) only. Therefore I advise political exiles not to go back to Zimbabwe because the Zanu (PF) heavy weights will be waiting for you and the MDC can do nothing to protect you. As long as Zanu (PF) controls the following arms of the government: Justice, Police, army and security agencies, political exiles must not return to Zimbabwe. by e-mail
