Bafana unveil Germany plans

JOHANNESBURG - FIFA World Cup 2010 hosts Bafana Bafana have unveiled plans for their Germany training camp.

The team will play one international friendly match against China on April 28 with three other training matches lined up against German teams. Bafana Bafana head coach, Carlos Parreira, fresh from a successful tour in his native Brazil, last week announced a 25-man squad that travelled to Germany at the weekend and will return to South Africa on April 30.

Commenting on the selected squad, Parreira said the door for the World Cup squad is still open for players who display tactical and social discipline. Katlego Mashego and Siyabonga Nomvete made a national team come back ahead of the Germany training camp.

Football is a game of moments, I have changed the players around a bit but I am still keeping the foundation of the team, said Parreira. SAFA CEO, Leslie Sedibe, said the association was satisfied with the level of Bafana Bafanas World Cup preparations. The Brazil camp was a resounding success. The Coach and his technical team have achieved what they had set out to do in South America, we are glad that all the players have responded positively to the assignment. Germany is our next step and it presents us with an opportunity to take the teams preparations to another level, said Sedibe.
