South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns signed two other CAPS United players utility player Method Mwanjali and chief striker Nyasha Mushekwi.
Ajax Cape Town announced on their official website that they had secured the signature of Rusike one of the best creative midfielders in Zimbabwe at the moment.
Tafadzwa, plucked from the obscurity of lower divisions in Alaska by former CAPS United coach Moses Chunga was being tracked by the South African club for some time.
CAPS United president Twine Phiri confirmed the signing of Rusike by Ajax Cape Town. “I can confirm that Rusike has been signed by Ajax.
The deal has been completed. He will be returning home this weekend before he leaves for South Africa permanently,” said Phiri.
Rusike was quoted as saying, “I am happy to sign for Ajax Cape town because they are a club who like to work with young players and they play exciting football.”
George Comitis the Ajax CEO said, “We are happy to have secured the signature of Tafadzwa. He is an exciting player in the same mould as Franklin Cale.
He is the second U20 player whom we have signed because we are building our team for the future. All indications are that Tafadzwa will be an asset to Ajax Cape Town and we very happy to welcome him to Ikamva.”
However, this will be a huge blow to CAPS United’s challenge for honours this season after they finished third behind Gunners and Dynamos in the league race last year.
