Lupane- Gomoza community members have been severely assaulted by a group of police officers after being accused of giving birth to criminals, assaulting police officers and responding to remarks made by police officers.
Some of the 22 community members who needed medical treatment could not access it as they required a medical report from the police but were afraid to approach them. The matter is being handled by the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights.
-16 Lupane Councilors, out of 18, have announced that they are defecting from the MDC to join the Tsvangirai formation with effect from Sunday 4 April after a call from the community members to maintain one MDC Party.
