Bulawayo- The business community has acknowledged that load shedding in Zimbabwe was not a solution to the electricity problems being faced by the country, but was an acknowledgment of the existence of the problem. Addressing delegates at a business conference held under the theme Consolidating macro economic recovery towards growth of the Zimbabwe economy, EMCOZ President, Mr. David Govere, said that the current levels of production from the electricity authority were detrimental in the rebuilding of the economy. We used to produce an estimate of 2000 megawatts but at the moment we cannot access the 2000 megawatts also taking into consideration the imports. As such we cannot dream of industrialization if we do not improve our levels of electricity production, he said.
