Mighty Bulls set their sights high

HARARE - Premiership side Motor Action, affectionately known as the Mighty Bulls by their passionate fans, have declared that they will lift the domestic league title for the first time following a bullish run which has seen them winning all four games they have played so far.

Coach Joey Antipas, who is also the national team assistant coach, believes they have what it takes to go to the winner podium come the end of the season. “This is a very good start. We are gaining confidence with each passing game. I am confident this is our year. We will win the league title for the first time,” declared Antipas whose side defeated Eagles 2-0 at the weekend to remain at the summit of the premiership log table after notching up four wins on the trot.

The Mighty Bulls, with their 100 per cent record, are now on 12 points. Motor Action director Eric Rosen was only three months ago contemplating putting the club up for sale citing financial constraints. He had said he wanted those with deeper pockets to buy out the club as it was no longer sustainable.

However, Rosen had a change of heart and decided to soldier on in the most trying times. And, it appears he might reap huge rewards should his side manage to win the league title and earn a place in the money spinning African Champions League. Dynamos, who reached the group stage of the competition on Saturday after beating Gaborone United 4-2 on aggregate are already guaranteed a staggering US$400-000.Rosen said this week the future was now looking bright for his team. “The future looks bright now and we might get returns if we manage to win the league title and play in the African Champions League,” said Rosen.
