The all expenses paid for program will run from September 30 October 15, 2010 in New York City, Atlanta, GA, and Washington, DC. She will also attend the New York Hip-Hop Theatre Festival as well as the A3C Festival in Atlanta.
The 23-year-old dancer, a final year Information Science university student at NUST, is the only female member of the Bulawayo-based hip hop dance outfit ROLX. She was among the three submissions made by Jibilika Dance Trust.
The group has produced some of the countrys finest urban dancers and made history last year when they came second in the Zimbabwe edition of the international Battle of the Year (BOTY) whose license is held by Jibilika Dance Trust.
The group subsequently represented Zimbabwe in the Africa Hip Hop indaba held last August in Cape Town where they made a splendid performance. The group recently made an appearance at the just ended HIFA in a duo with the b-boy crew Flip Floppers.
As part of Jibilika Dance Trusts youth development initiative Hope Step, Yeukai will embark on training and skills development programmes aimed at encouraging girls to dance their way to social and economic empowerment.
