CAPS United coach Lloyd Chitembwe said they would be looking beyond the country’s borders in order to lure the best players to replace key players who left for the lucrative South African league. Chitembwe admitted that they could not stand in the way of the players who made the grade to play in the ABSA premiership in South Africa. He said football was business and the sale of their four key players to South Africa was purely a business decision.

“Football is business and the management of the team took a business decision. While we acknowledge that we will not be the same team without these players, we will try to replace them with good talent as well. We will look beyond the region in our search for talent. I, however, believe there is a lot of talent here in Zimbabwe but if we get other good players from around the region be it Malawi or Mozambique we will sign them,” said Chitembwe.

CAPS United are set to play Al Hilal of Sudan in the final round of their Caf Confederation Cup during the weekend of 16- 18 July without their key players including chief striker Nyasha Mushekwi as they will no longer be eligible to play for them.

Midfielder Lionel Mutizwa became the latest player to join South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns. United have emerged as the club with the highest player export so far this year. Utility CAPS United player and Warriors captain Method Mwanjali,

midfielder Tafadzwa “Fire” Rusike and winger Oscar Machapa are some of the key players who have already completed moves to South African clubs ahead of the new season in August.

Mamelodi have acquired the services of Mushekwi, Mwanjali and recently Mutizwa to their ranks while Rusike and Machapa have signed for Cape Town Ajax and Morokwa Swallows respectively.
