Mining prep begins

BULAWAYO - Preparations for the specialised mining, engineering and transport exhibition Mine Entra have begun amid indications that a number of regional countries are eager to attend.

This years exhibition is being held under the theme Exploring Our Hidden Depth and will run from 21 to 23 July. ZITF company general manager, Daniel Chigaru, said due to the interest that has been shown by exhibitors, this years event will be held in Hall 4 instead of Hall 3. Chigaru noted that at least 55 per cent of exhibition space had already been snapped up. We are currently sitting at 55 per cent bookings in terms of space. We intend to sell is 3 600 square metres. The demand for has forced us to change the exhibition from Hall 3 to Hall 4,” he said.

Hall 4 has a gross space of 5 530 square metres while Hall 3 is 3 000 square metres. Chigaru said ZITF has received inquiries from companies in Malawi, Zambia, Tanzania and South Africa. “The recently held chamber of mines congress in Victoria Falls generated a lot of interest and from attendants there alone 10 companies confirmed their participation,” said Chigaru. The exhibition is expected to attract representatives and buyers from the country’s mining and other such related sectors to take part at the event.
