Zimbabwes top Urban Grooves music is doing well on Africas most prestigious MTV Base and Channel O musical channels.Munyavi, who is affectionately known as Cindy in the music circles has had positive reception with her song Nerudo (With Love), a track from her album The Groove Theory, which is due to be out by the end of June.
Dianas Kumagumo Erudo (To The End of Love) is also dominating the music channels.
In an interview, Diana said: I am overjoyed considering that I am among the few female Zimbabwean musicians to make it this far. The video was shot by Real net Multimedia, which also produced the video to Alexio Kawaras hit song Shaina and I think it is the major reason why it made the grade.
I am happy that the music has been very diverse. The culture is changing in terms of how people view female musicians. We are now being given as much respect as our male counterparts, she added.
On the other hand an overjoyed Cindy said: Multichoice sent the preview of my video to DStv and I feel overjoyed and excited, considering that l did not push enough to get my video played on these channels, it just happened as my video met the international standards.
I feel very honored to be one of the few local artists who have made it to the screens of MTV base and Channel O and I will be shooting three more videos from the same album, she added.
