Another Zim player headed for SA Premiership

HARARE - South African Premiership side Platinum Stars have emerged as the favourites to snatch the signature of the Botswana Premier League golden boot winner-Zimbabwean striker Terrence Mandaza.

According to Supersport, the former Dynamos and Sparrows striker who scored an incredible 42 goals in the last season, to lead his side Bostwana premiership side Township Rollers to the BeMobile League title has caught the interests of Platinum Stars who are eager to sign him from under the noses of some rival clubs.Mandaza has been linked with a host of clubs in South Africa before, from Orlando Pirates to AmaZulu, Bloemfontein Celtic, Bidvest Wits, Mamelodi Sundowns and Platinum Stars.

However, following reports that Pirates have been successful in securing Malawian hit man Chiukepo Msowoya from Rwandese champions APR, interest in Mandaza appeared to wane. Let us just say that we have received enquiries and a concrete offer from various clubs in South Africa for the services of Mandaza, Gobuiwang told SuperSport.

At this stage nothing has been finalised, although one particular club has tabled an offer that is receiving serious attention from Rollers, said Gobuiwang. Mandaza who was coached by former Highlanders and Warriors coach Rahman Gumbo in Botswana is set to join Warriors international goalkeeper Tapuwa Kapini at the club if his move materialises. Kapini signed a three year deal last month.
