Re-test for drivers is bad idea. It is fuelling corruption. Instead, driver’s licence checks should be introduced for those drivers involved in accidents. This should be done at a fee paid direct to government. – Anonymous
In England, during the Roman rule, the king was the Commander in Chief of the armed forces and was feared by the masses. But later the British realised there was no real freedom. And from 1642 to 2010, they have changed, many thanks to the British parliament. Our parliament can also do the same. – Anonymous
Zim politics is funny, Zanu (PF) comes in with obscene jingles and they think we are going to like them because we have seen people dancing on TV. The party needs to do more to convince people that it is serious about continuing to rule this country. I am one Zanu (PF) youth and I am fed up with the party’s lack of seriousness so I urge all the young people who have been used by the party to renounce their membership.- Angry youth, Mutoko
Let us have a constitution that recognises human rights: Freedom from slavery; Right to personal security; Freedom from discrimination; Freedom of the press; Freedom of assembly and association; equality before the law; Right to information; Right to property; Right to Housing; Right to Health care, food, water and social security; Right to education; Political rights; Workers rights. – Gwavaranda, Chegutu.
Your article about the newspaper reading groups (July 22, 2010) was inspiring; we have started it here in Mvurwi. Our concern is only that we do not get the paper in good time, but all the same it is keeping us in touch with what is happening. – Former farm worker.
I have a question for discussion and I think I should pose it through your paper. We are currently putting in our views with the hope that we will get a constitution that will guarantee ALL the things that we want. The question now is, since there are many groups putting their views, what if all the things that we are agitating for are not in the new draft and when referendum time comes are we going to accept a half-baked thing for the sake of progress or are we going to just reject it and try the hard way of starting afresh. This will be a moment of gambling and it really needs serious focus now. – Ngwerume, Chiredzi.
