Mliswa allegedly defrauded the RBZ US$ 3, 5 million through a loan advanced to him by the central bank at a time when he was the personal fitness trainer of Gono.
The twos relationship obviously raises questions as to whether due care was exercised before granting Mliswa the loan or whether personal ties may have influenced the decision to advance the cash to the fitness trainer.
It can be argued that Mliswa could possible have taken advantage of his personal relationship with Gono to access RBZ cash and therefore the need for a thorough investigation to establish what exactly transpired.
Gono should be investigated over the Mliswa matter as well as his other questionable dealings at the RBZ. The governor made millions of people to suffer through his policies at the central bank while on the other hand he was apparently diverting public money to his friends in Zanu (PF) through the black market.
People suffered some died as they failed to access their monies from the banks while people like Mliswa aided by Gono were allegedly milking the country dry.
The relevant authorities should take action and make sure that Gono is made to account for his actions.
