bulawayo_agendaBulawayo - Disabled people in Bulawayo have called for the formation of aministry that will look specifically at the welfare of the disabled.

Theyfurther argue that they are currently failing to access their social welfaregrants.The disabled said that the separation from the ministry of socialwelfare to create a home ministry that looks at the needs of the disabledpeople in Zimbabwe will go a long way in assisting the disabled who havelargely been marginalized. Most disabled people do not get any grants fromthe ministry of social welfare despite attempts to get them registered,said Emakhandeni BPRA secretary for the disabled, Simbarashe Kushanda.Headded that 21 disabled people from Emakhandeni had been sidelined fromaccessing social welfare grants and has resulted in many facing problems in their daily lives.

Upcoming Events

Bulawayo Agenda has scheduled for a Leadership Forum Meeting to discussstrategies on how the constitution can address the issue of local governanceto improve service delivery. The meeting shall bring together stakeholdersfrom government, the local Council, Parliament and the Private Sector.
