The national electricity demand and supply gap in the country is still very wide and, to make matters worse, ZESA says the load shedding will only end in three to five years.
However, thermal power is more expensive, with companies expected to pay an average tariff of 13 US cents per kwh.

HARARE - Cash strapped, Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (ZESA), which is unable to supply power to consumers, is appealing to major companies in the country to draw electricity from its small thermal stations of Harare, Bulawayo and Munyati to avoid load shedding.
