This is not the first time Mnangagwa will officially open the ZAS. He opened the 113th edition in 2023.
Deputy chief secretary (presidential communications) George Charamba said Namibian President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, who had been invited as guest of honour, is no longer available due to unforeseen commitments at home.
“Following unforeseen commitments in the sister Republic of Namibia, Her Excellency President Ndaitwah is no longer expected as the official Guest of Honour at this year’s Zimbabwe Agricultural Show, ZAS. His Excellency President ED Mnangagwa is now scheduled to open the Agricultural Show this Friday,” Charamba posted on X on Wednesday.
The 2025 edition was officially opened by South African President Matamela Ramaphosa, while the 2024 edition was opened by then Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi.
