Zim chess club wins tourney

HARARE - ZIMMATE Chess club were the winners of the Prince Edward chess Festival held on September 18 at Prince Edward School.

The team won all four games, white washing their opponents to collect maximum points. Prince Edward’s first team was close in second position, followed by neighbours Allan Wilson School.

Thabo Elisha was the best player on board one with 3,5 points, Douglas Biza excelled on board two, and Tatenda Matemavi on board three, all were Prince Edward students. Elson Nemashangwe was the best player on board four. ZIMMATE Chess club won a floating trophy for their sterling performance.
