Assegai Crew makes amends, honours deceased members

assegai_crewMUTARE - After encountering a nasty split that compromised the continuity of the band, Assegai Crew (Pictured) has finally come out of the woods and is set to launch a new album which pays tribute to two of its deceased band members.

The album titled Ndakudaidza (I called you) is a dedication to former founder members, Stobart Chindikano who composed the hit Mai Bhoyi popularly referred to as Kanyama Karipi and Tendai Muparutsa. It will also mark Assegai Crews first album after two of its members, Thomas Marimbita and Lawrence Karimanzira broke away in June due to conflicting views. Silas Makumbe is now the new front man of the Mutare based ensemble.

Ndakudaidza carries six tracks to its name and is currently receiving favourable airplay. Band Manager, Earnest Manjoro said, We are set to release our fifth album called Ndakudaidza soon. The album pays tribute to two of our late founder members. It will also mark a new beginning for the band as it is the first project after the split.
