Mining giants deal

HARARE - Mining giant, Mwana Africa, has made progress in settling a lucrative deal with potential financiers that will see several of its mining firms reopen.

This development was revealed during their annual general meeting held in London late last month.

The funds will be injected into three of its mining companies, which were forced to shut down operations in November 2008 at a time when the economic environment declined.

During the course of the meeting it was further revealed that the mining giant needed USUS$100 million for its three mining companies- believed to be the nucleus of Mwana Africa operations in Zimbabwe-to reopen.
